Cleaned indoor and outdoor coils as well as drain line and treated drain pan with antimicrobial agent. Checked duct work under home and verified airflow in the home, both of which are good. Checked system in heating mode and found only one set is running. Jumped the two stages of heat together and found the thermostat is wired incorrectly or programmed incorrectly. Checked the system in cooling, found low suction pressure and one of the heat strips engaging. Disconnected thermostat wire from heat strips and they turned off. Checked for low voltage shorts in the thermostat wire and there are none. Unit need a new thermostat to prevent the heat strips from engaging while in cool mode, and some refrigerant. Did leak search and found a leak in the middle of the evaporator coil. Replaced. Thermostat and added one pound r410a. Unit is running fine.
