Went through and did a visual inspection on the downstairs unit that is being installed. I listened to Ms. Nidds concerns and also express my own concerns. The contractor putting in the system removed a good portion of the hard pipe duct and replaced with flex. There are multiple ducts that are pinched from being tied to tight. There are multiple wyes that are not insulated and will sweat. There are no dampers in the wyes to control airflow. The attic application is facing the roof line and is difficult to get to for servicing and changing the media filter. The unit only has one media filter and the static pressures are going to be extremely high. High static pressures cut into the efficiency and put more strain on your motors and compressor. I would relocate the unit and run duct work differently. Ms. Nidds asked me what I would grade this on a 1-10 scale and I stated I’d give it a 5.
