Plumber, plumbing, Water Heater Repair, Upper Thermostat Replacement. Upon arrival the customer stated that the temporary upper thermostat on the water heater worked fine but it tripped 1time since I was here on 10-06-18. I first installed the new smart thermostat, the I swapped out the breaker with a same amp breaker that went to condensing unit. Now I turned on the water heater, got a 22.5 amp draw on the lower element. Since the upper and lower elements are the same, I’m hoping that the breaker doesn’t trip. Water heater is working properly now.
