I was cancelled on multiple times last minute, misled on pricing, and then overcharged for my service with the owner of the company lying directly to me. The actual plumber that performed the work was nice and did a good job.
As always whenever I need service for my unit the techs at Chrome respond in a timely manner. They know their stuff and are very thorough in their assessment of the problem and how best to correct it. They listen to my concerns and explain what I need in terms I can understand. And they stand behind their work.
Professional, through, friendly, knowledgeable, communicated with me throughout the process of inspecting and installing
Very timely, thorough with explanations and covers options where applicable.
Gave estimate to replace 4 ton system. Downflow in closet, filter rack is a 20x20x2, new disconnect and pad.
Checked for potential gas leak behind stove. Sprayed all joints and could not find any issues, nor did I smell any odor. Gave home owner option of gas pressure test to entire system and he declined.
Upon arrival found main unit for home not cooling. Checked inside unit and found everything operational. Checked outdoor unit and found condenser not running. Found that the capacitor was bad. Replaced capacitor and compressor and fan motor came on. Fan motor took awhile to come on giving that fan motor is about to go out. Homeowner approved replacement of capacitor and condenser fan motor. Replaced parts and checked pressures. Freon levels were good. System is now cooling properly at this time
Upon arrival found system not cooling. Checked inside units filter and operation. Found everything operational. Checked outdoor unit and found fan not running and condenser tripping on high head pressure. Found that the bearings in fan motor had gone out. Homeowner approved replacement of condenser fan motor. Replaced 1/4hp 825rpm motor. Installed new cap for motor. Turned system on and checked pressures. Pressures were good. System is now cooling properly at this time. Also homeowner hasn’t had any maintenance for a year. Need to put on schedule.
Upon arrival found that the system was locked out on an E201 which said that system has lost communication with the blower. Checked voltages to motor and from board and was getting only .6dcv with harness plugged in and 12.6dcv with it un plugged. Spoke with Lennox tech support and they said that the air handler control board isn’t outputting enough and would need to be replaced. Also applied 24v directly to motor and motor came on. Notified homeowner that board is under warranty and will have to order a new one in the morning due to Lennox being closed.
Upon arrival removed old control board and installed New control board. Changed wiring back over to communicating. Grounded all unused wires to common on the control board. Turned system on and tested cooling blower is now working properly. System is now cooling board was replaced under warranty
Upon arrival found that water was coming through the ceiling. Checked RTU and found that the drain line was clogged up, checked other components in system and found that both circuits were low on Freon, and capacitor for condenser fan motors is failing. Customer wanted drain line blown out, emailed estimate for other repairs.
Temporarily wired system to operate on 24v to get system to cool. Bypassed control board to send 24v to blower to come on. System is now cooling temporarily.
Performed a one system maintenance checking cooling. Checked inside units electrical and mechanical components, checked filter, drains and put customer supplied pan tablet in pan. Checked outdoor units pressures amp draws and capacitors all components were good. Noticed a little bit of pitting on the contactor and the condenser coil needs to be cleaned. Emailed estimate to make repairs. Homeowner signed up on maintenance annual.
Gave estimates on an 16 seer and 20 seer variable speed speed. Both with and without adding zoning. Also mark is extending a back part of the house which is going to add more square footage. Introduced zoning as an option to keep home comfortable in every part of home. Also condenser is going to be moved and would need to install a new line set and Tstat wire. Also mentioned that if mark goes with the xc20 with zoning to replace the supply plenum would be included.
Performed one system maintenance checking cooling. Checked inside air handlers amp draw, filter, ductwork, drains then checked outdoor units pressures and amp draws. Everything checks out good on system.
Performed a one system maintenance checking cooling. Checked inside units electrical and mechanical components, capacitor, changed out customer supplied air filter. Checked temperature differential. Then checked outdoor units pressures amp draws and capacitors all looked good. Recommended cleaning outdoor coil and adding a air scrubber to the system. Customer wanted to hold off.
Upon arrival homeowner stated that the system would make a thump sound when shutting off. Turned system on and checked outdoor unit. Turned system off at the contactor and disconnect 5 times each and could not get the system to make the noise. Let system run for 10min and then tried to shut it off again but no sound. Had homeowner outside and couldn’t get the system to recreate the issue. Checked capacitors and hard start all looked good. Explained to homeowner that if it happens again let us know and try to record the sound.
