Came out today to inspect a leaking hot water heater. Upon arrival the homeowner stated that his wife was working out when she noticed the water. He tried the to shut it off at the incoming valve but the valve wouldn’t move. The homeowner currently has the main shut off. Upon inspection I was able to Determine that the tank is leaking out of the bottom. The 50 gallon, chimney vent hot water heater was installed by PA & FB on 2/12/18. I was able to close the incoming ball valve so the homeowner could turn the main back on. I turned the system off, shut off the gas and drained the system so I wouldn’t continue to leak in the home. Chud will have to check the warranty status on the hot water heater. The homeowner would like a leak break installed on the new hot water heater to prevent this from happening again. The homeowner currently has no hot water.
