Came out today for a no heat call for a Goodman system model #ARUF37C14AC, serial #1807304934. Another tech was out on 12/13/22 and they found a blown fuse. He replaced it with a popper so the homeowner could reset it if needed. Upon arrival the system was calling for heat and the popper was tripped. I removed the access panels and reset the popper. It Tripp within 3 seconds. I turned the system off at the thermostat and set the blower for auto. I reset the popper again and again it tripped. I advised the homeowner that there is a short in the system somewhere an electrical troubleshooting is needed. I let the homeowner know the price for troubleshooting and explained that if I started today I would only be able to check the indoor unit. I cannot open the electrical compartment of the heat pump due to the rain.
