Came out today for a no heat call. Weil-McLain boiler model #eg-75-PI. Upon inspection I found that the thermostat was calling for heat but the boiler failed to light. I can see the spark igniter sparking but the pilot won’t light. I powered the system down and removed the igniter to inspect it . I found some debris in the pilot. I was able to clear the debris and test the system. The system fired right up. I cycled the system on and off a few times to make sure the system would ignite. The system is operating properly at this time however it is very old. It is my professional opinion that the system should be updated due to its age. The homeowner agrees and would like a quote on a replacement system. I will contact chud’s comfort advisor with all the details.
