Customer showed us pictures oil in the condensation pump as well as the evaporator pan. I told customer this is a sign of a leak. I asked to make sure customer did not want to use the install company and he assured me that he does not. I performed a pressure analysis and I had a 0 subcool with a 60 superheat. I offered solutions and the customer went with my premium option. I added the refrigerant and did the tune up. We need to return to do a full leak search to make sure only the evaporator coil is leaking and not the heat pump as well. System took 4 lbs of 410A refrigerant which shows the system was low by 3/4 of the charge. Customer prepaid/paid for leak investigation, refrigerant added, a year maintenance agreement (fall 2022/spring2023) as well as today’s diagnostic. Also highly recommend a a whole house air purifier to help protect the system from bacteria and microbial growth seeing that the evaporator is in poor condition for only being 5 years old.
