AC precision tune up. Clean and tune up AC; cleaned condenser coil, checked all outdoor electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked refrigerant levels, and tested overall AC operation. Homeowner stated that the unit had tripped the breaker the day prior from our visit. They reseted the breaker and still no power to the outdoor unit. When arrived the unit had no power so I opened the system up and did an overall inspection of the electrical components and first I found the motor booster lastly found the wires going to the compressor were burnt and very fragile. Lastly tested the compressor and found the unit shorting to ground. deemed the compressor has failed at this time. With price of repair and condition of this system, replacement is encouraged.
