On arrival homeowner had concerns about water dripping from the side of the house, coming from the emergency drain. I inspected the evaporator coil for the upstairs system and discovered that the evaporator coil’s primary drain was clogged causing the water to overflow and drip from underneath the evaporator instead of the main drain. On further inspection I found that the downstairs a/c drains were connected with the upstairs a/c drain into a drain pipe without a bushing. Without a way to flush the system I recommend the homeowner to have a clean out kit for both the upstairs and downstairs system and a bushing as well as to add an in-line float switch to prevent any water from dripping into the emergency drain pan incase of a future clog. We also went ahead and flushed both the upstairs and downstairs drains from any build up. The drain systems for both systems are working properly at this time.
