The R.J. Durham & Sons Cooling & Heating of Melbourne, FL is the most highly organized, professional, yet friendly company with which I have ever dealt! When Mr. R.J. Durham came to my house for the free estimate, he presented me with several Trane informational brochures which had wonderful, colored illustrations showing the interior of the air handler and the condenser. These brochures explained how my new Trane system would work and save me money. I was also given a proposal with the costs detailed. (Of course, I had previously done extensive research on the internet as to which brand AC would be the best as well as which dealer would be the best. Trane and R.J. Durham & Sons had both gotten 5 stars!!) After reading the proposal, brochures, and additional research, I decided to purchase the 18 SEER, 4 ton Trane, plus 10 yr. labor warranty to accompany the 12 yr. warranty on my compressor. So, we set a date. On the installation days, Dawna or Lisa, the cheerful secretaries, called me every morning to alert me that the men were “on their way.” The two installers were on time every day, and were very polite, professional, and friendly. At the end of every day, they cleaned their worksite completely and asked me if I had any “questions or concerns.” They worked hard, and very patiently explained things to me when I asked questions. Good-naturedly they did a couple of things I asked them to do—one was to cut away some branches that were encroaching on the condenser vents. Bottom line---they took pride in their work and did a beautiful job. I’ve been responsible for buying five AC’s in FL and in IL, but I was most surprised to see and impressed with R.J. Durham’s use of a separate electrician to do the wiring! To me, that was a sign of true professionalism and dedication to doing a job correctly. At the end, I was impressed by Tyler, an R.J. Durham final inspector, who made a couple of “suggestions” to the installers. Then, the job was finished. Another huge plus is the fact that R.J. Durham completes all the registration and warranty paperwork for their customers, thus eliminating any chance of the customers’ losing 100% benefit of their warranties (by not getting their paperwork mailed in within the time limit). Lastly, I must mention that R.J. Durham graciously let me borrow some window units while I waited for my Trane system to be installed---which kept me perfectly comfortable. Since I’ve had my new Trane system, I have been extremely comfy with the thermostat on 80 degrees, and I never know when it’s on, because it’s so quiet. I definitely give R.J.
