I was very impresses with time spent checking my HVAC system. Travis was very professional and explained the whole process.
2021 Ruud split system using AA413 filter. All checks good at this time and system is operating properly. Customer current on Cozy Plus HVAC plan through Nov
Amana split system w/16x25x1 filter. System under contract is for their adjacent garage unit not the main house. All checks good at this time. Unit is only responsible for an upstairs unit to garage and settings are very lenient for requested temps. Position of unit outside makes it prone to build up on condenser coil so made note of that and proceeded to hose out the a/c.
8 yr old Fujitsu mini split system was flashing a code for outdoor fan motor error. System warranty ran out in 2020. Removed power to inspect board and motor. Board does not look in great shape. Reapplied power and system started up and ran. Refrigerant level looks fine. Unit is likely to fault again and repair would be $2k or more to replace motor and board. Customer has decided not to do anything with the unit for the moment and leave it as is.
Changed customer’s 14x14x1 ceiling return filter. ** **Customer would like us to assist ordering her next box of filters for her.
Performed anniversary check on equipment. Changed AA413 filter and verified working status of surge protection. Found no issues with the equipment at this time. Discussed comfort club with customer. Left brochure and customer will discuss with husband and call in if wanting to sign up.
Verified leak in condenser coil. Attached estimate for coil price and rough estimate for refrigerant amount.
Customer said ac was not blowing cold air. Arrived and condenser fan motor was not working. Found a bad capacitor. Changed and fan still didn’t want to work. Unit had bad capacitor and fan motor. Unit is 20 years old. Recommended replacing unit.
Replaced failed 45+5 mfd capacitor on 3 yr old Goodman unit under warranty. Also repaired two burn wires connected at top of contactor. Added surge protection to ac unit and did cooling maintenance on system. Changed air filter. Condenser coil had quite a bit of dryer lint in it. Dryer vent located right beside unit.
Changed air filter and added plasma pure air cleaner to the furnace. Did Maintenance check on 2013 amana ac unit. The unit looks like it may have been hit with a mower or something at one point. The unit is sitting a little cockeyed and a couple metal fins are bent up on one side, also the liquid line on line set is a little bent up going into the block foundation. Initially had some issues with suction line frosting up. Tried adding a pound of refrigerant but suction pressure did not change. I went in a found about 8 vents closed off in the home. Opened the vents and increased fan speed for cooling to high speed. This helped with the line frosting over but refrigerant pressure still seems off. Removed the pound I put in and we are waiting to see if ac gives customer anymore issues once it gets warmer. Left a quote to removed refrigerant and pull vacuum but that is not a guaranteed fix. Also leaving quote to replace Evap coil and refrigerant line set.
Plugged up drain trap causing a water to overflow. Cut, cleared and reattached drain. Also perform HVAC maintenance under new agreement. Applied $50 off coupon.
Furnace drain accessory is cracked and needs replaced.
Discussed comfort club options with customer. Signed up for Cozy HVAC and changed both filters. Upstairs system is completely empty of R410 refrigerant. Discussed repair vs replace option with customer as system is outside of its warranty period. Customer elected to get service call and go from there. All other checks were good.
Ion Thermostat was not powered up when I arrived. Removed thermostat from wall to inspect wires and stat. When I put stat back on wall stat had power again. Checked at furnace control board also for good solid connection. If problem persists we may need to replace the thermostat. Set customer up on maintenance plan. They just had their anniversary check on the equipment recently and did not wish to use a maintenance visit today.
Replaced capacitor on 14 yr old Trane unit. Initially thought unit was low on refrigerant but then I found that the washable filter was very dirty. It hasn’t been cleaned since April last year. Once filter was cleaned my refrigerant pressure went back to normal. Customer should consider upgrading to our cozy plus maintenance plan so we can wash the filter twice a year.
Customer said ac was not working. Found ac is not getting 240v. Ac power wire goes into a generac smart module box. Confirmed power to the box but nothing out to the ac. Led on smart module indicates a problem. Told customer to contact whoever put in the generac generator, or Stanley electric to fix/replace box.
