I was dispatched to a home in the afternoon to check on a system that was not cooling. Upon arrival, I found that the system was low on refrigerant. I inspected the system and found that the float switch was malfunctioning, causing the system to shut down. I informed the customer of the issue and provided them with a price quote to perform a drain cleaning and flush cleaning. The customer agreed to the price and performed the drain cleaning. I also performed a full system evaluation, which revealed significant microbial growth inside the unit. I wiped some of the growth down with a rag provided by the customer. I also noticed that the drain line was very clogged, so I checked the pressures and temperatures after flushing the drain line. The pressures and temperatures were looking good, so I rinsed the condenser coil with water.
