Customer had us out because her air conditioner was not working properly upon investigation. Troy found that the evaporator coil was extremely blocked and causing a suction vacuum inside of the air handler portion of the package unit. It was making breathing noises that were mimicking a motor about to go out. To test the motor, we put our multimeter on the black wire to measure the amperage, and when the top of the package unit was off of the unit, the motor operated normally. The evaporator coil is significantly blocked on one side and is causing the motor to draw air in from all sides of the box. We need to perform a in place cleaner on the evaporator coil to dislodge all of the debris that’s blocking the airflow. In addition, the capacitor has failed and needs to be replaced. it is a 45+10 NFD capacitor
