I had a smart thermostat installed.The tech installed the thermostat but didn’t seem to know much about programming it or offering any kind of tutorial about the operation of the thermostat.A previous tech had left the heat strip wiring out of the old thermostat for reasons unknown.This tech hooked up the heat strip wiring in this new thermostat without going to unit to check if heat strip was actually working.He just stood over vent and said “it is blowing cold air so the heat strip is not running in cooling.I am no expert in ac repair by no means but why the heat strip wiring was left loose should have been investigated a lot more than it was.I may have a faulty heat strip and not know it.Who knows?When tech installed thermostat,the thermostat told him some wiring didn’t seem quite right.I don’t know what he selected on thermostat but that notice went away.I am not confident that the thermostat is installed or programmed correctly.Time will tell I guess…..
