Customer called us out because half of his house was out of AC. Upon investigation, Troy discovered that there are two systems. There is a 2 ton in a 4 ton system. The 4 ton system had a problem with its capacitor and that’s why I have the house was out of AC. After replacing the capacitor Troy check the other unit to find that the amps on the motor for the smaller unit are showing signs of weakening and potentially could need to be replaced. There was water in the float pan, but there was nothing in the float cup to suggest that it shut off due to flooding. We vacuumed out the condensate and troubleshoot it for potential ice up reasons. Coyle looks very clean and the filter wasn’t dirty enough to constitute icing up. This led me to believe that the motor might be weakening or that if they had a power bump half the system might’ve gotten knocked out, and the compressor was running without the motor, dispersing the air
