Customer had us out to take a look at his system because it was not keeping up with the set temperature again. The previous visit we had loaded the system with a couple of pounds of Freon just a few months ago. Upon arrival, Troy saw there was ice all over the coil and ran it in heat mode to try to clear some of the ice off of the coil. System is a straight cool system. Coyle looks to be blocked and at first it looked too perhaps just need to pull and clean. After putting my gauges on the system, it had very low pressure on the suction side coupled with the Freon leaving so quickly pointed to an evaporator coil leak. Explain this to the customer. Customer agreed to replace his evaporator coil Instead of replacing the whole system which he was halfway thinking about customer would like to finance the job, if possible, as he already has a relationship with synchrony for the ductwork we completed a few years back if not, he will come out of pocket.
