Great Service

The Huft technicians who have come to our home have always been friendly, curteous, and professional. I appreciate how they contact me by text ahead of time with a picture of the technician so I know who I should expect to see arrive at my home. They call ahead to let me know they're on their way, arrive when they say they will, clearly explain what work they'll be doing that day, any updates as they go along, and how everything went when they're done. They also take their time to thoroughly answer any questions I may have. Their work has always been done well. The office staff have also been a pleasure to work with - very friendly and informative - and have sent helpful email and text reminders about appointments as well as any follow-up paperwork and documentation. I would recommend Huft to anyone.

Chris immediately diagnosed and fixed the problem that made the new register vent cover hang loosely and dangerously. He explained to me that the problem had to do with the "flange" on the ductwork leading to the register cover, so he had to move the ductwork to get at it. (A worker from a previous company had been unable to find and fix the problem.) Chris also checked all of the other new register covers and showed me how to adjust them and how to remove the covers to replace the batteries on the new smoke alarms, all without making me feel like an idiot. He is the most polite technician I have ever encountered!

Customer request sidekick inspection service performed sidekick inspection service on heat pump package unit inspected all safeties and connections checked refrigerant level during refrigerant level noticed high side pressure is above 600 psi and causing the unit to kick off on high head pressure inspected the systems operation in cooling found system operate properly with proper pressures in cooling mode indicating that there’s a failure with the heating thermostatic expansion valve will return to replace heating thermostatic expansion valve Expansion valve ordered from Johnstone supply or ETA 5 to 7 business days

System is performing now and doesn’t seem to have not been working at anytime. Alarm codes are A015-A016 and are for damper motor not being wired up properly. Checked connections and they are both wired properly to zone board. If not wired properly than zoning system would not be working properly. Will need to talk to tech support and see what can be done with that.

Upon arrival homeowner stated that their gas bill from last month was higher then normal, they had a concern that the system might be leaking gas or not running as efficient. Checked and tested system in heat mode, checked gas pressure and also performed a gas leak search on piping on roof. Dropped gas pressure from 3.7 to 3.2, found no leaks on gas piping from roof to system. Informed homeowner to run system as usual this month and compare this this months bill to last months. Homeowner will give us a call if there are no changes.

Performed first visit heating maintenance on a Goodman furnace. Wiped down and vacuumed blower cabinet, gas line inspected to ensure no leak, condensation drain lines are cleared, cleaned and resurfaced flame rod, all electrical components were within spec and system is operating properly. Advised to change filter within the next month. Will have another visit for A/C unit in the summer.

Went into the attic and found that the furnace blower door and furnace door we’re both off laying on the cat walk. Installed doors and cycled system and Heating cycled on. Upon arrival customer had blockage in hallway lavatory sink. Removed p trap and ran cable through and pulled out ball of hair. Ran snake two more times and came back clear. Tested by filling up sink and draining 3 times with customer next to me. Test well and no evident leaks.

Upon arrival homeowner stated that system was blowing cold air when running in heat mode. Upon diagnosis found system was low on refrigerant, recommend adding refrigerant to system and installing UV dye to perform a leak search at a later date. Homeowner approved repairs and also signed up on superhero club membership. Added 3 pounds of refrigerant to system and UV dye. System was putting out a 30° temperature rise and no other issues occurred. Informed homeowner office will call tomorrow morning to schedule a appointment to perform leak search.
