Jake Kring. I arrived for a fire and family no cool call. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the heatpump is not operating. I checked the heat pump and found the capacitor to have failed and was preventing the system from cycling on. I inspected the indoor system and found the air handler to be running well but the capacitor to be weak and reading under the manufacturer range of normal operation. I also found the evaporator coil to be clean but the coils are rusted. I reassembled the system and replaced the capacitor in the condenser. I then cycled the system on and checked all electrical components and refrigerant charge and found the system to be running at a 10.3 deg subcooling of 11 deg per the systems data plate. I then cycled the system off and cleaned all debris out of the condenser coils from the inside out. Once I got the system reassembled I left the system to be running per the homeowners thermostat settings. There is a one year warranty on the heatpump capacitor from
