Jake Kring. 08-27-2024. I arrived for a system not cooling. The homeowner showed me the location of the system and I started to inspect the system. I found the thermostat to have been blank with no 24V power to the thermostat. I then inspected the furnace and found the low voltage fuse to have failed. I checked the condenser and found that the capacitor had failed and the compressor was internally shorted. The shorted compressor caused the capacitor to fail and burn the wires from the capacitor to the Y wire off of the defrost board and melted the 240V power to the 24V circuit burning the contactor, defrost board, low voltage fuse and thermostat. I informed the homeowner of the chain of events that caused many parts to have failed. We decided to try and get all parts replaced under warranty. I explained that we will try to get all parts under warranty but having so many parts that have failed due to the chain of events we may not be able to get all parts under warranty. We agreed to pa
