I had a new entire HVAC system installed in June 2023 by Interstate Heat and Air. Since its installation I have had a couple of instances where the thermostat went completely blank and technician determined that a fuse at the air handler was getting blown whenever the system tried to go into heat pump mode. Yesterday Jake (technician) determined the problem was due to a corroded thermostat and he also discovered a pin hole leak in one of the lines to the compressor resulting in a loss of Freon. Jake installed a new thermostat and spent 7-8 hrs dismantling the system so he could repair the leak. The heat pump has been operating smoothly ever since. Hopefully there won’t be any similar problems in the future. All of the repairs were made under warranty so it didn’t cost me anything other the discomfort of having a malfunctioning heat pump. My ratings reflect the inconvenience of having to use emergency heat during this process as opposed to heat pump.
