Jake Kring. 05-26-24. I arrived for a club member no cool call. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the system is not coming on at the outdoor unit. I inspected the system and found the unit to be locked out on high pressure and the plug for the condenser fan motor that selects the fan rotation direction is unplugged. I checked all electrical components and found the hard start kit to have failed and the capacitor for the fan to be extremely weak. We decided to tray a capacitor and see if the fan will cycle on. Once the capacitor was on and the condenser fan motor came on the system has a lot of vibration in the unit and this is what caused the plug to come apart. I explained that we can replace the capacitor today but I would recommend to get a new blade in and replace the condenser fan motor due to its high amp draw.
