Came out to call for a system not cooling properly. Customer stated that they noticed the unit not cooling sometime this morning, and the temperature in the home was getting warm. Customer showed me to the unit and stated that he believes that the issue has to do with the outside condenser and could possibly be the capacitor. I checked the system over and found the unit to have a bad capacitor. Discussed with customer about repair needed and also about servicing the system. Customer’s maintenance is due next month, but wanted it done today since I’m out. Customer approved repair and I replaced the capacitor in the unit. Washed the condenser coil thoroughly. While I let the condenser dry out, I checked the equipment in attic. Inspected the filter, blower assembly, motor, electrical components, evaporator coil, drain and overall condition. Systems filter didn’t need to be changed yet, so I left one for the customer. Found system needing more return air, since current set up is undersized
