7/31/2024 Isaac J. Came out to call for a system noise that the customer is concerned about. He stated that the unit was making a strange noise like it’s under stress, but it quit doing it after he had called in about, but thinks something is going out. I checked the system over again and found the unit in need of cleaning. Customers service is due, so I went ahead and cleaned the system. Checked system operation and found the condenser fan motor amps higher than rated (2.1/1.4) on the data plate. Explained to customer what may be the cause as far as the unit noise. Most likely the bearings are wearing out and it was making the noise because it’s under stress. Hard to say for sure because the noise isn’t happening anymore. Customer would like to replace the motor under warranty before it truly fails. Will get it ordered and come back out to replace it.
