Today I had the pleasure of servicing a 16 year old Carrier Furnace and Condenser Unit. Upon arrival, customer stated that the system would turn on but there was no heat coming out. Upon diagnostic, I found the furnace pressure switch was stuck in the open position keeping the system from firing up. After discussing my findings with the homeowner and explaining the function of the pressure switch, I replaced the pressure switch with a universal pressure switch and tested system operations. The system fired up with no further issues. All conditions were normal at time of departure.
