Jake Kring. 02-20-25. I arrived for a mini split we installed not heating. I inspected the system and found it to be in the off position. I cycled the system on in heating mode and turned it to fast heat mode. I found the system to have a 112 deg supply air temperature and a return temperature of 60 deg. The temperature rise in this system is 52.3 degrees. I spoke with the homeowner and she said it was throwing a code of GF and looked it up on google to see what it was. She said it was a line frozen over. I explained that the system is not faulting out at this time for me to see why it was tripping out on a code. I explained that this is a heat pump and it will freeze up and not run heating in this time and that it’s normal for this system to do so. They will freeze up and go through a defrost mode as designed. I also explained that I can’t diagnose anything wrong with the system if it’s working at the time I’m inspecting the system and not faulting out on any codes. I left the system
