At first the tech said I needed to have freon added for $149. and also cost of a diagnosis call, $89.99. I told him I had already a diagnosis call and nothing was indicated as being needed and his office had said that there would be no charge for the diagnosis. I told him I would think on the freon. Brandon called back and said he went ahead and added nine oz. of freon and wouldn't charge for the diagnosis call. There was no charge for the service. That restored my faith in Interstate and the owners, Kai and Jamie.
Jordan did a great job
Came out to call for a furnace not heating properly. Renter stated that the home wasn’t getting warm and the system was shutting off before the thermostat was satisfied. I checked system over and found the furnace reading a limit code. High limit switch is tripping. I checked filter and found it needed to be changed. The systems return grill is low to the floor and pretty small. It’s an 8x24 and isnt pulling enough cfm to help heat the home properly, especially in these temperatures. I tested systems gas pressure, amps, and temperatures to verify the furnace is operating properly. Gas pressure was a little high, so I adjusted it from 3.9 to 3.5 recommended setting. Flame sensor was dirty also, so I cleaned it. Overall system needs more return air to help heat and cool the home better. I recommended increasing 8x24 grill to a 10x24 and cutting in a 12x24 in bedroom by closet for more airflow. System cycled off at 68 degrees set on thermostat.
Arrived to no heat service call and performed system evaluation. Furnace was in need of maintenance pretty bad all sensors were corroded and needed service. Thermostat improperly configured also. Informed customer maintenance was the issue. Spoke with customer about options. Customer chose to join blue shield protection plan furnace maintenance today. I performed first tune up today and we will return to service ac in spring. Customer recently replaced filter. Cleaned flame sensor and and tested ignitor. Test induced draft motor. Test ecm motor amp draw. All amp draw in range. 90 percent drain is clear. Test unit in all modes. System is heating at this time.
I arrived for a silver member fall tune up. I first spoke with the homeowner and found no major issues with the system and it’s abilities to heat the home. I inspected the system and found all electrical components to be running properly at this time. I did find the low heat gas pressure to be running over it’s recommend levels. I dialed the low heat in and set it within manufacture specs. Overall this system is running properly at this time. If you have any questions please contact us. Jake Kring.
Red SPP Furnace tune up on system we just installed this year. This is a rent house. Renter was having trouble getting hot water, so looked at HWT and found what looked to be a bad thermocouple, the pilot was lighting but not staying lit when turning the gas valve to hot water stages. Offered to replace thermocouple and flush hot water tank with today’s service, and customer agreed to have thermocoupler replaced. Started with hvac equipment. Changed filter included with red club. Checked flame sensor and it is brand new. Checked flue, evaporator coil, drain and blower. Cycled system in all stages and it is running great according to manufacturer specifications. Checked electrical amps and ohms, checked heat rise and delta t. Hvac system is working well. After opening up and removing old thermocouple in hwt, found it to be a different size than the universal kits we use for furnaces and hot water tanks. Unit is a 2012 Bradford White. The pilot light is lighting, but not staying li
Came out for duct cleaning inspection for a system we installed, including ductwork, in 2013. Customers main issue was water dripping from vents. Went in attic and found top of supply plenum with some condensation on it. Looked for a roof leak and found none. Looked inside plenum and it has had a haeavy amount of moisture buildup. Checked and confirmed condensate pump is working. Micro power guard and condenser coil both are dirty and need to be cleaned. With customer permission performed a system tune up and started by checking refrigerant charge. System reading 15 degrees delta t and 18 degrees of subcooling. System calls for 10 degrees with a 3 degree range. Washed condenser thiroughly, as it had built up and packed in mud in the lower 5 inches of the coils. Also cleaned off micro power guard filter housing. Recommend cleaning outside coil once a year and micro power guard housing brush off once a month. Checked capacitors amps and volts after cleaning and drying system coils. Subc
Performed blue shield protection plan air conditioner maintenance. Changed 14x30 filter. Washed condenser. System is 2012 comfortmaker. Test capacitor and motor amp draw. Test compressor amp draw. All amp draws in range. Refrigerant levels are in range for current temperatures. Blower and evaporator are clean at this time. System is cooling as designed at this time. Suggest surge protector to upstairs furnace be considered in near future to protect furnace electronics.
Arrived to call back performed system evaluation found system slightly low on r410a added 9 0z to system. Subcooling in range. System is cooling. Attic is very warm spoke to homeowner about insulation or whirlybird roof vents. System is cooling. No charges to customer at this time.
I came out for a no cool. I checked the system over and found the AC not coming on at all. Caused by a bad dual capacitor. With approval, I installed a new dual capacitor. I also washed the condenser coil. I cycled the ac and checked all operations. The house is 89° Inside. It can take up to 24hiurs for the system to fully catch up. All working at this time.
Silver ac maintenance asked about filters and how system cools, customer said system is cooling great. Customer asked about directional placement of filters, and showed customer that it is a downflow system, so the arrows should point downwards in the filter rack. Washed condenser thoroughly, checked dual capacitor. Capacitor reading out of range and with customer approval changed it up for a fresh one. Part is under warranty, but labor is not. Changed 10x20 customer supplied filters. Checked evap coil and blower wheel. Checked drain line and float switch. Checked amp draws inside and out. Checked refrigerant pressures via delta t. System is running well at this time, Amps on the fan side of the condenser are reading on the higher end of the manufacturer range.
I came out for a non-club AC maintenance. I washed the condenser coil. I checked the filter, blower, drain, evaporator coil, capacitors, contactor and all wiring. I cycled the AC from the thermostat and checked all temps, amps and charge. The filters were pretty dirty and need changed. I talked to the renter and owner about the filters. The owner said he’d pick the, up and change them himself. All working at this time.
