HVAC TECH

Came on time. Very polite and helpful. Got the job done in a timely manner with a pleasant attitude. He also checked my CO2 detector to be sure it was still working. When at the Northampton Home he helped change a battery in the smoke alarm and recommended we install a CO2 detector. I thought that was very thoughtful. I am very pleased.

Very good and QUICK!

Isaac got to us not much more than 2 hours after I called, and this was after regular business hours. Got us repaired and cool air starting to blow in short order. It would’ve been a miserable night without his help! Very professional and friendly.

AC not cooling after it had a pre-summer checkup.

At first the tech said I needed to have freon added for $149. and also cost of a diagnosis call, $89.99. I told him I had already a diagnosis call and nothing was indicated as being needed and his office had said that there would be no charge for the diagnosis. I told him I would think on the freon. Brandon called back and said he went ahead and added nine oz. of freon and wouldn't charge for the diagnosis call. There was no charge for the service. That restored my faith in Interstate and the owners, Kai and Jamie.

Jake K. I arrived for a friends and family customer. I inspected the system and found that the control board will not supply power to the induced draft motor. I explained that I cannot get this system running with the universal control board we have. I will have to get the parts from the manufacturer. I am to track down a replacement OEM control board and call the customer with a replacement quote. Jake K. I arrived to replace a OEM control board for the customer. I replaced the board and cycled the system on and found the system to run properly. The new control board will have a 1 year warranty on the new control board.

The thermostat said low battery the other day and I replaced the battery but it never worked. Cycled equipment into heating at the thermostat. Disconnect power to furnace. Tested HSI, flame sensor, blower motor, inducer, gas valve, and all safeties. Adjusted gas pressure to 1.8 low and 3.5 high. Replaced filter. Coil clean heat exchanger in great condition. Heat rise at 45 temperature split around 35-40. 0ppm CO. And everything is clean. Spoke with homeowner about the water heater. They have someone to do it but would like a quote. Attached is estimate for water heater replacement. Heater currently does not have hammer arrests or expansion tank. Recommend installing CO detectors and replacing old fire alarm.

23OCT2023 Jason Brown Arrived for 2 yo no cool. Spoke with homeowner about the systems performance. The outside unit is running but we noticed it freezing and the blower motor isn’t running. Inspected furnace. Checked amps and voltage to fan. Cycled equipment in fan only motor tries to start then drops out. Verified high voltage and control voltage. Checked for power from board. Fan motor has failed. Called Carrier for availability. The Motor is available and repairs scheduled for tomorrow from 3-5 pm 24OCT2023 Jason Brown Arrived for previously discussed motor replacement. Removed existing motor. Install new motor. While installing the motor I found chunks of old insulation that has come off the old return plenum ( metal box) inside the blower wheel. Came out to install new inducer fan motor in furnace. Shut system down and un-installed existing motor. Replaced the rubber seal around the heat exchanger exhaust port and installed new inducer motor in place. Made sure it lined up properly with screw holes and fastened it in. Cycled furnace on and checked operation. System is heating properly and there is no more noise coming from the inducer.

Came out to call for a system making noise and not heating properly. I checked he system over and found the noise was the inducer motor bearings weakened causing vibrations. The reason the furnace wouldn’t work was actually the ignitor not getting hot enough to ignite the gas. Checked voltage and had proper voltage to the ignitor, so the ignitor is bad. Discussed with customer about repair needed to get system operational and the repair I recommend getting done as well. Customer approved replacement of the ignitor to get system operational and would like me to look into pricing and availability of inducers motor. I replaced the ignitor, cleaned the flame sensor and checked operation of furnace. System is now heating properly.

Came out to call for a system not cooling properly and owner of business also wanted to know the details of the 4 Ton package unit that is not operational. I checked south east 7.5 ton unit not cooling well and found one of the compressors not pumping. Checked high pressure switch reset and the compressor came on. Condenser coils are badly damaged from hail, and is something we’ve noted on the account for awhile. Systems are due for maintenance and need cleaning. Checked 4 ton package unit out and found it not having proper voltage on 3 legs of power. Only getting 200 volts and need 240. Unit has a known small leak in the condenser coil that is no longer made via manufacturer. Discussed with customer about repair options and replacement. Customer stated the owner of the building wants to try to have the unit fixed before they talk about replacement. Customer will have to have an electrician out to fix power issue before we can address the system. I will put this call on hold till custo

Came out to call for a system not cooling properly. Customer stated that the AC system wasn’t operating properly, and the fan on the outside unit wasn’t spinning. I checked the system over and found the capacitor depleted and the start wire to compressor burned. Discussed with customer about repair needed and fixing wire. Customer approved repair needed. I replaced the capacitor and fixed minor burned wire. Washed condenser coil and cycled system back on. Checked amps, temperatures and pressures of Condenser. System was running just out of range according to my temperatures and pressures. Discussed with customer about leak search and system needing refrigerant. Customer wanted to add refrigerant for now and do a leak search the next AC visit they have to see if we can find a leak. I added 1.2lbs of 410a to system to get unit within proper range. System is now cooling properly.

non club cooling maintenance. Joe(JC)Ritchal. 07/18/2023 Performed full system evaluation and safety inspection. I arrived perform the customers requested a non-club maintenance. The tenant said that the system had struggled to keep up in the last couple days when it got really hot. I went ahead and checked the thermostat and washed out the condenser. I didn’t check the furnace and evaporator coil both would look like they were in good shape. I didn’t check the condenser which was in good shape but it was very dirty when I had cleaned it out which may have caused the issue with it not cooling well. Working well and the refrigerant charge was good.
