AC not cooling after it had a pre-summer checkup.

At first the tech said I needed to have freon added for $149. and also cost of a diagnosis call, $89.99. I told him I had already a diagnosis call and nothing was indicated as being needed and his office had said that there would be no charge for the diagnosis. I told him I would think on the freon. Brandon called back and said he went ahead and added nine oz. of freon and wouldn't charge for the diagnosis call. There was no charge for the service. That restored my faith in Interstate and the owners, Kai and Jamie.

I arrived for a on member no cool call. I spoke with the owner and found that the system will run after they shut it off for a long period of time and after a while the outdoor motor stops spinning but the system still makes noise. I inspected the system and found the condenser fan motor to be running at 1.4 amps and the motor is not to run more than 1.1 amps. I checked warranty on the system and found that it is still in warranty. I called the manufacture and they did not have a motor replacement at this time. I installed a temporary motor to keep the customer working unit we get the motor in for replacement. Jake k Jake K. I arrived and replace the temporary motor with the OEM motor from the manufacture to claim the repair under warranty cost. I replaced the motor and checked all amps and electrical compressor in the condenser and found no issues with this system at this time. I recommend to keep the system clean and maintenanced at least twice a year to heal prevent repairs like t

Summer AC tuneup on 2009 split system. Spoke with customer and filters weee just changed. Asked her system was working, and customers just looking to have a tuneup today. Washed condenser thoroughly, removing all panels and cleaning excess debris out from the base of the condensing unit. Checked to capacitor, hard start kit, search protectors, evaporator coil, condensate pump, condensate line, blower and ductwork. Surge protector on condenser took a hit and is out. Cycled system on and checked electrical and refrigerant pressures. Condenser fan motor reading 1.8/1.5 amps, compressor reading 12.8/17.9 amps and blower motor reading 6.2/6.9 amps. The condenser fan motor is starting to wear out at the bearings as noted by attached video, causing it to rock and sway as it runs. Recommend having it replaced, as it is a matter of time before it goes out. Customer wants to have a surge protector installed today and will look into having the condenser fan replaced in the near future. Recommend

30JUN2021 Jason B Arrived for no cool, we were recently out of a communication issue. Spoke with Caroline about systems performance. The condenser fan has been stopping and starting and recently completely went out. They have been running the system without the fan operating. This is a variable speed condenser fan and will need an OEM motor. With customer permission I installed a universal fan that will keep her cooling while we check for price and availability of the OEM motor. System is running as best it can at this time. Waved service fee for recent test and verify. Swap universal with oem motor

Came out to call for a system not cooling. Customer stated the blower wasn’t coming on and could smell a burning smell, so they shut it off. I checked system over and found the blower motor not operating. Capacitor is good still, but the blower is seized up. I let customer know that the blower motor failed and went over pricing and repair needed. Customer approved repair. I replaced the blower motor, changed out the capacitor as well, then reinstalled the motor and blower assembly back in the furnace. Cycled system on and checked operation. I also changed the filter for the customer. Recommended maintenance plan on the system since it’s about 14 years old and hasn’t had much done to it. Customer wasn’t interested at this time. System is now cooling properly. Motor has a 1 year warranty on it. Thank you for choosing Interstate for your heat and air needs!

Arrived for no cool issue. Talked to homeowner and found theretsat was issue with tstat. Checked tstat and found tstat not accurate. Tstat reading 69 room temp. Actual room temp 72. Tstat is communicating tstat. This is a communications system and I gave the homeowner a option of replacing the communication thermostat or replacing the board with the thermostat. We will have to order both or one or the other part. We decided to remove the batteries out of the thermostat and let it run soley on the communication and powerful of the furnace. We preformed a test and verify at this time and we are going to let the system run as is for now.

Arrived for ac not cool. Upon inspection found the unit to be out of refrigerant. Found the leak in the evaporator coil using soap bubbles. Carrier currently doesn’t have the evaporator coil to replace it. Added 5 lbs of 410 a to the system and everything is working. Indoor temperature split is 16.5 degrees. Will call back to set up time to replace the evaporator coil once carrier gets one in.

I arrived for a non member system bid replacement. I first spoke with the homeowner and found that the system is a older system and that they want to bid the wholesale system for replacement. I inspect the system and found that the furnace is a natural draft furnace with a slab coil. I then went over all options with the homeowner and we decided to bid a select system replacement. We also bid to add a return air duct to the system to gain a full 1200Cfm of air movement. I offered a 10% discount off the system or financing for two years. We also went over the club maintenance plan and the 10 year labor warranty. This new system will be a carrier system with a 10 year parts warranty. If you have any questions please contact us and I will do my best to help you out in anyway possible.

Arrived for silver member AC tune up. Overall the system checks out great. Blower wheel and evaporator coil are clean. Blower motor and capacitor check out good. Outside the condenser was washed, pressures and electrical checked. Refrigerant pressures check out good as does the electrical. Only spot of warning is the contactor is starting to get some pitting. Added a hard start kit to help the unit use less power on start up and take a load off the capacitor to help prevent failures. Also put in a pan treatment to help keep the drain line and pan clean. Overall the system checks out good and is working and cooling properly.

12MAY2021 JB Arrived for spring tune up. Discussed system performance with Deborah, she reported an odd sound from the condenser and stated she was concerned about its condition. Cycled system on at thermostat. Inspected condenser and found condenser coils clogged with grass and dirt. Washed condenser coils and pad. Inspected all electrical components and found capacitor reading a little low on the fan side. Inspected furnace and coil. Coil clean, blower cabinet and fan cage clean. Capacitor and fan amps all within specs. Float switches are working properly and no signs of refrigerant leaks or water. After discussing AC capacitor condition and probable cause we decided to go ahead and replace the capacitor. Cycle system on in heat, cycle system on in cooling. System is running properly at this time. Motor 4.2/7.9 Cap 7.5/.5 Cabinet clean Coil clean AC Contactor good Compressor amps 6.2 Fan amps .9 Capacitor 2.5/5 38/40
