AC Service

I appreciate the AC service provided for my older mother. After further analysis, I felt robbed and unappreciated as a customer by your company. I contacted your company after a local company failed to show. I was disappointed with the time it took to arrive on yesterday (told it would be mid-morning), the lack of respect for my time that led to my being late for work, disappointment with the additional charge requested to search for a leak that was thought to exist ($318), not going into the attic to check the split AC system, charging $106 per lb. for R410A, when the average cost is $65 lb. and a final charge of $554 just to add refrigerate to a small AC unit. It feels like your company took advantage of a senior citizen with this extreme charge. This is very sad...I will make sure to share our experience with other potential customers, the BBB and the AG's office.

Mrios1019@gmail.com Costumer was concerned about mice in duct work. Found no mechanical challenges, tech did find a hole on a duct connection. Costumer approved repairing for right now. Delta T of 22 degrees. Costumer invested into yearly PSA. Tech recommended an exterminator for mice control. Costumer did want a quote on replacing/upgrading the duct system. Need to contact the costumer to schedule a field supervisor. Spanish speaking only costumer. Need office to help with translation.

Upon arrival tech found indoor humidity at 60% and temp satisfied at 72 degrees. Customer stated indoor temp rides to 76 only during evening times. Tech ran system and found delta t within spec, duct system needs to be replaced as previously stated. Previously wet duct lines are restricting some airflow, many very small rips/leaks. Recent patches will not fully stop all leaks within duct system, all supply vents have adequate airflow. System is doing as best as it can with this duct system. Ran system down to 70 degrees indoor temp before techs departure. Unable to reach Mr. Jackson via phone to collect trip charge fee and inform of findings. Informed Mrs. Jackson on site.

-Service call today to potentially clean outdoor coils on both systems. Spoke with Carrie via phone as far as date of scheduled maintenance and whether cleaning of coils is approved. Carrie states to discuss with Brandon once he arrives on site. No service call fee for today’s visit due to recently charged service call fee on each system.

Upon arrival tech ran system and monitored R22 pressures, leak has previously been diagnosed at evaporator coil. Tech found low R22 pressures. Found dirty air filters in office, replaced both 20x20x1 filters. System is old and leaking, customer opted to charge system up. Tech added 2lbs R22 to get pressures and delta t within spec. Highly recommend replacing system.

Tech attached fallen branch line and sealed up leaky spots throughout duct system. Confirmed airflow from all vents inside while system is running.

Duct system has some leaks here. Looks as if possible rodent has been underneath the home. Some torn up duct in places. One branch line is completely off supply trunk. Ultimately best thing to do is to replace entire duct system. Plan is to patch for now and possibly replace in the fall

Tech found system running but only maintaining 78. Tech found pressures looked normal and subcooling was good indication correct charge. Tech found superheat was low and suction line temp was only 47 degrees, this indicates an airflow issue. Tech found filter installed backwards and flipped. Tech found no change in superheat. Tech inspected ductwork and found multiple leaks, found 1 line down and found 1 branch filled with water. Tech suspects multiple branches are filled with water, leaking or collapsed causing high static pressure. Ductwork needs to be replaced for proper system operation. Tech put duct back up. Field supervisor needs to be contacted.

Upon arrival tech was informed rooftop Trane package unit that controlled the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor hallways was not cooling. Tech inspected system and found Compressor #2 was not running. Compressor was sending a Y2 call from the board but was not making it to compressor due to a safety switch. Tech pressed contactor in and heard compressor making a lot of noise and grinding noise. Also found one of the evaporator fan motors getting voltage but not coming on indicating it failed. Customer would like quote for repair as well as potentially replacing the system .

Upon arrival tech was informed system was freezing up outside. Tech inspected system and found filters extremely dirty as well as evaporator coil was dirty. Changed filters and sprayed evaporator and pressures came back up. Tech inspected condenser coil and found it to be dirty to but there is no water access available to clean well. Tech did spray with hand pump and sprayed with coil cleaner but will need more pressure to really clean. System is back operational at this time but will need to return to clean condenser.

Goodman split system (break room) Found the evaporator coil and part of the condenser frozen upon arrival. Tech had to de-ice the system to continue diagnostics. After de-icing the system, tech found normal/high refrigerant Levels/pressures. Return side of the evaporator coil looked liked it was dirty, melting the ice build up over it helped it clear out, drain line is clear. One of the workers stated that they recently replaced the filters. Tech also found the secondary auxiliary metal drain pan(32x64) rusted out on the bottom, if any overflow were to happen, the water will drain straight down through the ceiling. An estimate will be provided to replace the metal auxiliary drain pan to prevent ceiling damages. System is back cooling. Tech spoke with Carrie about the findings.

-Performed CMA Inspection on 4 rooftop gas package systems, 1 dual condenser make up air, 1 make up air, and 1 DOAS system. Replaced air filters at 4 back of house locations. Cleaned evaporator coils on kitchen systems per maintenance agreement. -Customer approved previously diagnosed refrigerant leak for kitchen system circuit 1 as follows: Pull vacuum, recharge system to factory level with addition of AC Leak Freeze. Charged to factory level 8.6 lb R410A. -Dual condenser make up air unit did not operate correctly after maintenance. Had to reset oven hood control circuit breaker to clear error code due to make up air being turned off. Manager reset circuit breakers for fryers that had turned off when oven hood was reset. -Found all systems working correctly (after recharge on kitchen circuit 1). JACKSON & builders were present and changed back of house filters as provided by Jackson & Sons.

Tech arrived and performed inspection of system, tech found that drains are not insulated and systems does not have primary float switch. Tech also found evaporator coil is in rough condition, rusted and corroded. Tech found system to have an 18 degree delta t at this time and is on and operating properly. Tech added all information into equipment tab. Tech informed customer of issues and potential problems they could cause in the future. Customer is aware of age and condition of system but does not want to do anything at this time.
