Tech washed and serviced unit and found no challenges at this time.
Upon arrival tech began replacing VP8000 thermostat and low pressure switch. Tech noticed wires for defrost temperature switch (DFT) were cut at the switch and unplugged from defrost control board. Tech rechecked low pressure and high pressure switch and both were closed. DFT is designed to close at 33 degrees and open back up at 65 degrees, switch is reading open. Tech suspects the DFT was checked instead of low pressure switch and when it read open assumed it was the low pressure switch. Tech replaced ECOBEE thermostat and wired system back like it was supposed to be and system is operating like normal. Tech informed homeowner that system is back operational and to give us a call back is system stops cooling again.
Tech serviced and cleaned units per service agreement, tech found no challenges at today’s visit, systems are back up and cooling. Need one 14x20 filter to be dropped off.
Replaced the existing thermostat with a focus pro 5000. Tested system after installing the new thermostat. System is cooling. Costumer requested a paper copy of the invoice as well.
Upon arrival homeowner stated same issue from last visit. Only blower would run. Tech found getting a Y call at thermostat wires, but contactor not pulling in. Tech ohm’d out contactor and was reading within spec (15 ohm’s). Tech then inspected pressures and ohm’d out low pressure switch and found pressure switch to be open. Tech bypassed pressure switch and system came back on. Tech then applied thermostat settings to homeowners liking and found unit would shut off whenever set to auto mode. Tech then Reset thermostat to cool and system came back on. Tech does not have vision pro 8000 thermostat on van, office is to schedule a thermostat swap. Also will need to get in contact with homeowner to give pricing for low pressure switch. Low pressure switch is bypassed, system is cooling at this time, no charge due to recent visit.
Technician was informed system had tripped breaker last night due to storms. Customer reset breaker and system started cooling. When they woke up this morning system was not cooling. Technician did find 24v to y circuit but compressor nor od fan was engaged and contactor was not pulled in. Technician reset breaker and system started up no issues compressor is operating properly and system has a 20 degree delta t with 83 return and 63 supply. System is cooling. Customer did state ecobee is not user friendly and would like to see if they can switch with a more user friendly thermostat.
Upon arrival tech was informed system was running but not cooling. Inspected system and found 40/5 dual run capacitor had failed. Tech installed new capacitor and system started cooling again. System is back operational at this time.
Found condensation puddling inside blower compartment, and into metal mobile home supply ducts. This is due to extremely corroded/impacted evaporator coils restricting airflow, and causing condensation to fall into blower compartment before entering drain pan. Pulling and cleaning is not an option due to condition. Coil would have to be replaced. Handed over to field supervisor to provide solution. Costly repairs not recommended.
Tech was informed system was not cooling properly tech did see in past invoices and found duct work is over sized. System is operating as best it can with the duct work it has. Tech informed customer she is expecting Chris to send a proposal to replace duct work.
Tech washed and serviced outside unit and found dual run capacitor testing weak. Tech found indoor furnace drain line clogged causing it to overflow tech blew line out with nitrogen tech found no other challenges at this time. Customer will give us a call for repair. Will need to stop by and drop 14x14x1 filter.
Tech washed and serviced unit and found no challenges at this time. Tech recommended uv replacement. Customer declined.
Upon arrival homeowner stated it was humid upstairs and outside condenser was making a buzzing noise. Tech found contactor causing buzzing noise, tech also inspected refrigerant pressures and found pressures to be within spec. Replaced contactor and informed homeowner on hotter days it might feel a little more humid than usual, thermostat was holding temperature on arrival and departure.
System is cooling, however, the costumer has stated multiple times that the thermostat has been flickering at times. Costumer decided to call Honeywell and they directed her to remove the C wire and use batteries and the thermostats malfunction appeared to have gotten better. Tech checked the contactors and looked for any obvious shorts on the thermostat wire. Tech switched the common wire (blue) with black from the thermostat to the airhandler. Once the thermostat called for cooling, the system operates for approximately a minute and then resets. Faulty thermostat was diagnosed. Tech provided the options to the homeowner and decided to buy her own thermostat and that she’ll call us when she is ready to move forward with the repairs. System is operating while using batteries.
Tech performed esa on trane gas pack, found no challenges at todays visit. Customers sister let tech in home. Customer will call in to renew
