Tech inspected 2 split systems and a mini split no issues with systems at this time
Tech came out to replace thermostat with customer supplied thermostat. Open arrival tech tested operation of system at thermostat, system came on briefly and thermostat rebooted. Customer stated that it had done that for awhile. Tech verified the compressor contactor was not shorted and replaced the thermostat. Tested operation and system cycled on correctly, however it is low on refrigerant. System is 28 yrs. old tech did see an oily residue on the suction line at the air handler indicating a refrigerant leak at the evaporator coil. Replacement of system is highly recommended. Tech quoted customer for 3 lbs of R-22, customer approved but tech only added 1 lb of R-22 at this time. Total charge is about 5 lbs.
Upon arrival customer stated system has been supplying room temperature air. Upon inspection tech compressor not running at condensing unit, only condensing fan was running. Tech found failed 45/5MFD dual run capacitor, tech swapped capacitor with new for testing purposes. Tech restored power to system and compressor came on properly, amp draws are within spec on compressor as well as outdoor fan. System has an 18 degree delta t in cooling mode, tech also tested heat. Heat strips came on properly as well, system is back up and operating properly. Tech collected $472.41 by card for todays repairs. Tech recommended investing in a service agreement to maintain system. Tech sent form to customer. Non stock capacitor.
Tech found no difficulties at this time. Homeowners father stopped by and let tech in.
Techs preformed CMA INSPECTION on 4 split systems. All systems are operating at this time. Split System #3 does indicate that fan motor is beginning to fail electrically, but is operating at this time. Tech does recommend replacing fan motor with new capacitor. Tech has attached estimate for repair to invoice. Tech has also attached system performance reports to invoice along with pictures.
Thermostat was not getting c signal due to not being connected at air handler customer declined thermostat replacement at this time System is low on r22 and recommend cleaning system. The aux drain pan had half in of water in it Declined adding more than one pound of r22 and System so old that no model or serial number found. Customer currious to cost of new system set up appointment for next Thursday Customer still had some minor issues with the thermostat and will change out himself
Tech found condensing unit not running upon arrival. Tech verified there as no water in the auxiliary drain pan and float switch was not tripped. Inspection found the dual run capacitor had failed. Quoted warranty price for run capacitor and customer approved. Repair was made and system is back up and cooling.

DALTON AND DEREK REPLACED A TRANE SPLIT HEAT PUMP
Trane 3.0-Ton Heat Pump w/ Air Handler
FOUND 20 YEAR OLD SYSTEM VOID OF R22. DR. PATTERSON APPROVED REPLACING SYSTEM. HANDED OVER TO COLBY FOR PROPOSAL ON NEW SYSTEM.
Tech found no line voltage at outdoor unit due to breaker tripped inside bedroom panel. Tech found wiring harness on compressor burnt and R22 compressor shorted to ground. One of the bolts that holds outdoor fan motor is missing and fan motor brackets are rattling freely. Top panel of outdoor unit is cracked from vibration. Bottom of outdoor coil fins are completely missing likely due to fog urine. There is a large hole where condenser air is bypassing outdoor coil. 5uf fan capacitor is reading significantly weak at 4.67uf. Duct system is in poor condition. Supply insulation is missing. Significant air leakage exists on trunk. Return is partially collapsed and air handler disconnect is missing the cover and has exposed terminals. With failed R22 compressor, compressor wiring harness, outdoor fan motor and blade out of balance, outdoor fan mounting bracket and top panel missing/cracked, outdoor coil corroded and missing fins, and ductwork in poor shape, tech recommends full replace
Performed ESA. Tech found leak in evaporator coil, homeowner does not want to repair nor get a quote on a new system.
