Performed ESA, homeowner could not afford ESA right now. Recommended monthly and declined. Homeowner stated he will call in when they have the funds.
Tech found that the return plenum was not properly secured during install and became detached from air handler. Tech removed seal tape, installed return plenum and secured with sheet metal screws. Then sealed all 4 sides to the unit.
Tech found the wires going to a/h were spliced and electric said they will have to put a panel up there with w breakers feeding the a/h. Tech was able to trace back the main power wire to a 100 amp breaker that’s as tripped on the outside panel tech reset breaker and system started up tech programmed thermostat. Tech then ran cooling mode and added 10oz of 410a to achieve the request cooling of 8 degrees. Temperature inside was 49 supply 70 return. Tech then etched heat strips found the amp draws was 20.1 amps within specs. Tech tested heat pump heat temperature being 96 supply 70 return. System is operating properly at this time. Tech removed the 60 amp fuse from condenser disconnect replaced with 40 amp.
Tech replaced thermostat with customer supplied nest thermostat
Tech found mini splits were operating properly at this time tech did see fan was on the low position instead of auto and display at mini split was at 76 and thermostat in house for other system was at 80 in the house indicating customer was probably running fan on with no compressor heat due to them on a/h was lower then inside house. Tech turned systems on and both spyware heating 100 degrees plus.
Tech found no difficulties at this time. Homeowner wanted tech to only service mini split.
Called customer and explained installation procedure on mobile home. Also gave customer verbal ball park and customer stated this option is not what her parents are looking for at this moment.
Upon arrival the thermostat was displaying a memory error message. Tech removed the thermostat face plate from the sub-base on the wall, allowed the thermostat to power down briefly and reinstalled. Thermostat booted back up and had to be reconfigured for proper system operation. System cycled on and heated with no challenge. Customer experienced a power outage over night due to storms, this could have caused the thermostat to malfunction due power blinking on and off. Tech replaced 20x30 air filter, dated 5/17/22 with customer supplied filter. System is working correctly at this time. Recommend having system on a regular service plan.
FOUND BREAKER FOR HAS FURNACE TRIPPED. CUSTOMER RESET BREAKER AND SYSTEM CYCLED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO FURTHER CHALLENGES. NOTICED OILY SUBSTANCE IN AUXILIARY DRAIN PAN. PICKED UP LARGE LEAK WITHIN FINS OF EVAPORATOR COIL. HANDED OVER TO CALEB COOLING COIL/AC CONDENSER. SYSTEM IS HEATING BUT WILL NOT COOL PROPERLY AT THIS TIME. INVESTED IN ESA 1 SYSTEM.
Tech found pilot not lit and lit pilot. Tech found thermostat not opening gas valve and found gas valve opening properly when tech jumped thermostat wires. Tech quoted thermostat, customer wants to hold off on thermostat.
Tech performed ESA, tech found no issues with system at todays visit, system is back on and working properly at this time, tech spoke with customer about renewal and customer
SYSTEM IS RUNNING AT FULL POTENTIAL. PRESSURES/CHANGEOVER WELL WITHIN SPECS. 68 DEGREE SET-POINT IS NOT ATTAINABLE DURING HIGH HEAT INDEX DAYS. SYSTEM KEEPING 72 DURING VISIT. OD COILS NEED TO BE CLEANED. MAINTENANCE IS DUE. CALL TO SCHEDULE ASAP.
FOUND DRAIN LINE FOR BEDROOM HEAD UNIT CLOGGED. UNCLOGGED DRAIN LINE/TESTED DRAINAGE. INVESTED IN MPA 1 SYSTEM. SCHEDULE 1ST VISIT ASAP.
FOUND SYSTEM VOID OF REFRIGERANT. DISCUSSED ALL SCENARIOS WITH CUSTOMER. WILL CALL IN IF QUOTE IS NEEDED ON NEW SYSTEM. REPAIRS NOT RECOMMENDED.
