Call Reason: When I arrived on job site, customer told me that furnace would fire up and then kick out. Problem: So I set the thermostat up 10° and went downstairs and furnace was running when I got down there. I inspected the burners and found that they were in bad shape and starting to crumble. I also found that the spark ignition pilot was in poor shape and not able to be taken apart. I cleaned the igniter, the best I could. I also checked the capacitor on the blower motor and it was within specs it was rated for 7.5 and was reading 7.4. I cycled furnace 3 to 4 times and it fired off every time and ran just fine. Solution: I would recommend replacing the burners and the igniter assembly along with the spark tubing. Overview: Furnace is very old, but I could not find any major issues outside of the ones stated above. Heat exchanger is starting to rust which will lead to failure. Furnace is definitely at the end of its life. Please mail invoice. Customer does not have an email
