Upon arrival of the technician spoke with the customer, the customer stated that she’s had her home warranty company send out a HVAC company over the past six months around six times, she said that the system condenser has been replaced three times in the past six months due to the same issue, and said that they condenser was not getting the proper amount of voltage. The technician began at the outside system, finding that the thermostat wires were only sending 14 V. The technician went into the attic and found that the furnace was sending 24 V down to the thermostat but only 14 was coming back up. The technician went down to the thermostat and removed the thermostat and hotwired the thermostat wires. The system came on properly at the time. The technician found that the voltage issue stems from the thermostat, the thermostat will need to be replaced.
