Extremely capable individual who did a thorough job.
Decided to take another try with the NICE Home Services after reading a lot of positive reviews online. The experience wasn’t great two years ago, but I am glad I did give them another try. I scheduled for a fireplace and HVAC annual check up, and Fredy and Thomas showed up right on time. The overall experience was awesome - it was pretty much the definition of customer service everyone would cherish and appreciate. They were friendly, and cheerful, on top of doing a thorough rockstar job. The entire process was stress free as they were very transparent in regards to what I need vs. what are the good to haves (didn’t force sell either... everyone hates that). They even went above and beyond to fix up my fireplace up! They were not just typical technicians - definitely getting to the trusted advisor/friend level. Made my day. Thank you Fredy and Thomas!
Tech was professional: competent and courteous. While the tech advised me of what required attention, he didn't try to to "upsell" me on the service package I had purchased--which I really appreciated.
Upon arrival found 2 screws for evaporator coil door not secured and disconnect flipped to the “off†position. Secured evaporator coil door and flipped disconnect to the “on†position. Performed thorough evaluation of the system and found refrigerant charge low. Charged system with 1lb of R410A to get it up to manufacturer specs. Performed complimentary electronic leak search, no leaks detected. The system is operating properly at this time.
Diagnostic on attic system, Called tech support and ran many tests, per tech support we must install an electronic bypass and connect it to zone 3. Performed cooling maintenance and cleaning on 2 Hvac system. Flushed the condensation drain line and cleaned the condenser coils, checked refrigerant pressures, found little low in refrigerant added refrigerant then cycled the system. * R 410 a refrigerant recharge by super heat and sub cooling
Performed water heater and cooling tune up. Checked all major components and system operation. Flushed drain line. Found that 30-day air filter is not sufficient and is allowing evaporator coil and blower to get dirty. This is opening the system up to the potential for biological growth. Recommend chemically cleaning evaporator coil and blower and then applying Teflon treatment to maintain cleanliness. Recommend IAQ 2000 to replace current inadequate air filter and prevent biological growth in system.
Blower wheel needs to be serviced, no expansion tank is on current water heater, hot water heater is outdated, customer is not willing to purchase anything at this moment due to just getting a new indoor/outdoor unit and they thought the cleaning came with the membership
1)tune up 2) I checked all capacitors and inspected blower wheel assembly I also checked for proper delta t and confirmed system is fully operational, I cleaned the coil. 3)Job complete, left thermostat on desired temperature.
1)hvac diagnostic 2) client said that system is not coming on I confirmed ez trap is tripped and needed to be cleaned out, I showed client how to do clean out in case it happens again. 3)Job complete.
Arrived for cooling tune up of two systems and water heater maintenance. Checked both indoor units, inside was in good condition , flushed both drain lines. We were not able to check outdoor units due to rainfall. Both indoor units have no iaq’s. We checked 80 gal electric water heater and found calcium build up on the elements. We offered options for water heater system replacement. Customer wanted us to check log set because it was not lighting. We pulled and clean pilot assembly and burner assembly. Log set is now operational.
This option is the least expensive option that would safely address what we were called out for. * dual capacitor replacement Cooling safety inspection and maintenance Turned the thermostat to cooling the dropped the temperature down to 60f, inspected the indoor system, found an old humidifier that needs to be replaced, also found flexible gas connector ran through the furnace cabinet, inspected the evaporator coil found biological starting to grow . Flushed the condensate drain line and dusted the furnace cabinet. Cleaned the condenser oil and checked the compressor, the refrigerant pressures and the fan motor, found weak dual capacitor, replaced the capacitor and the refrigerant pressures shows low advised the client of my findings, the client authorized capacitor replacement and he will review my solutions then let us know. Job complete.
Return visit for Txv replacement. When opened the evaporator coil notice oil marks on the capillary tube and coil, applied soap babbles and located the refrigerant leak at the capillary tubing, the client was under the assumption that we were replacing the whole evaporator coil because ARS already found the leak at the same place. And gave him the $950 to replace the coil. I offered them to replace the coil for the same price of the TXV replacement the client denied my offer. Jo needs to be canceled.
1)hvac diagnostic 2) client said that her system is elated out and due to vibration I was able to read other quote from company and she authorized txv replacement, I did explain we typically do not go with other company diagnostic and explained risk, client authorized repair. 3)Job not complete, we must come back to do work, we must reach out today at 4pm so client can make final decision.
This option is the least expensive option that would safely address what we were called out for. * Econet zoning dampers replacement * 1) 12†round damper * 1) 10†bypass damper * 1) 10x10 square damper Return visit to replace the electronic Econet dampers, removed 3 dampers then installed Econet electronic dampers, tested the system is heating and cooling mode. Job complete
Customer did not wanna purchase the wet switch the easy trap or the IAQ 2000 due to the virus at hand and not knowing when it was going to end she always felt that when we come out it’s always something she has to buy I told her we want to prolong the life of the system with it being 12 years old
Decrease the temperature of the thermostat to make sure the system is working properly look at the blower will to see if you need a service and it was 0% impacted air filter was knew it was just change by the customer and they normally change the filters once a month other unit was clean with coil cleaner checked the capacitor on the outdoor unit in the amperage is still high no expose wires in the indoor system return boxes also clean no gas leaks was detected clean the thermocouple on the water heater check for gas leaks at the water heater no gas were detected offer the customer the IAQ 2000 they do not have any system enhancements. Made sure that the pilot light came back on on the water heater customer was not interested in getting any system enhancements at this time due to the purchasing a new systems and tight on money
Upon arrival found unit not operating due to blower door not being secured causing door switch to trip. Relocated door switch to other side of unit and secured door. The system is operating properly at this time.
Cooling safety inspection and maintenance. Turned the thermostat to cooling then verified system operation, pulled out 90% dirty filter advised the client that the filter should be replaced more often which can cause prematurely equipment failure. Inspected the blower assembly, the evaporator coil and the uv light. Flushed the condensate drain line and cleaned the condenser coil, found clogged dryer vent and old rusty venting showed the client, the client wants to think about. Flushed the water heater and performed maintenance. Job complete
