Completed water heater repair for a residential customer in Anderson today. Their Bradford White 50-gallon gas unit was not maintaining consistent water temperature, frequently delivering lukewarm water. Diagnostic testing revealed two issues: a failed thermocouple preventing proper burner ignition and significant sediment buildup in the tank. Replaced the thermocouple with a factory-approved part and performed a complete tank flush to remove accumulated minerals. Also cleaned burner assembly which showed signs of corrosion that was affecting flame pattern. Checked gas pressure to ensure it met manufacturer specifications - was slightly low, adjusted to proper level. Tested for any gas leaks after service - none detected.
