Restoring optimal cooling performance was the objective of this recent AC repair call. Upon inspection, the issue stemmed from a failed contactor which prevented the condensing unit from running. I replaced the dated 24V contactor with a new dual pole unit rated for this system's specifications. To protect the compressor, I installed a hard start kit compatible with the equipment's capacitor values. All low voltage control wiring terminations were tightened and checked for any potential shorts or grounding issues. After enabling power, I monitored refrigerant pressures, validated the charge, and confirmed the unit was maintaining the manufacturer's recommended superheat and subcooling levels.
