Supreme Air installed our Geothermal system a few years ago. We love it and have really enjoyed working with Supreme on standard maintenance and tune ups. Very friendly and professional.
Up on arrival performed winter maintenance on01/27/2020. Cleaned air filter, checked all electrical components, took delta T, delta P. Tested thermostat for operation tested system for operation. Found voltage absorption little low rated 30uf actually readings 27.6uf.
The yellow thermostat wire coming from the bottom of the HWH had been cut into by the cover and was causing a short. I adequately taped the wire and then taped around the two wires to give it some protection from the cover. I called installation manager to verify warranty status. I uploaded 2 photos of the wires.
On arrival set unit to call for heat measured supply and return air temp measured voltage and amps inspected electrical connections checked water pressure ,coils,Contactor ,dampers, found humidifier was never wired correctly.rewired it and tested it .unit operating normal
Replaced left side loop pump and fixed speed circulator pump. Purged all air from loop then returned power to systems and checked operation. Normal heat extraction rate on all units. Once fixed speed circ pump was replaced I purged all air out then ran unit. Checked amp draw of pump then checked heat extraction rate for loop, also checked heat rejection rate on load side. Verified normal water flow rate. Systems operating normal. Also added some insulation around portions of pipe that were missing.
Unit was locked on high pressure. I figured the load pump was not working and found it was not pulling any amps. I found one of the resettable fuses open for the pump and reset it and the pump began working until the resettable fuse opened again and the pump began to overheat. I looked at the pump and found that it is a 120v pump. All pump terminals inside the WF unit are designated 208-230v. The pump that is here needs to be replaced with the same type of pump. Taco 007 for 1.25†flange but it needs to be a 208-230v pump to tie into the WF unit. I let the customer know what was going on. I called senior technician for support, recommendations and warranty status. I completed a parts order form and a customer follow up form. Customer does have hot water but it’s obviously not through the hydronic system just installed. Customer will not be home on Monday but will be home on Tuesday.
I called WF tech support and confirmed warranty part status and $85 labor allowance credit is still valid for a few more months. I made an estimate to replace the left side loop pump and called the office to discount the repair further. The estimate is on file as well as a parts order form estimate. I also helped the installation crew make some wiring corrections and supplied them with a disconnect for the HWH.
Helped installers flush loop and start units. They need to return to finish water to water HeatPump unit.
