Came and gave estimate for replacing water heater
Cleaned and flushed primary and secondary evaporator drain lines; removed debris blocking drain under upstairs bathroom sink; ran unit to cool for 3hours and observed proper flow from primary drain line without any intermittent interruptions from water safety switch; cleaned condenser coil and signed up for Thompson’s Service Partner Plan. No further recommendations at this time.
Installed 5 ton full horizontal. Added new 20x14 return and 2 supply cut ins. Upsized existing 10 inch duct to a 12 inch. Nice airflow all around.
16 y.o Client called us out today due to AC being non-operational. On previous visit technician recommended refrigerant and leak seal and deep cleaning for condenser coil. Condenser was non-operational upon arrival. No voltage getting to contactor. Proper voltage at circuit board in furnace. Low pressure switch is blocking voltage at contactor. This would indicate the system is low on refrigerant and has a refrigerant leak. Explained to clients what it would take to find and seal leak. Due to the age of the system, advised clients be wary of major repairs going forward. Clients have elected to move forward with repairs. Recharged system and injected UV dye/sealant. Noticed head pressure for system is extremely high (500+). Spoke with manager, and if system does not make it through the next two weeks can credit 50% of today’s repair towards system replacement. Thank you for trusting Thompson with your heating, cooling and plumbing needs.
Clients called us out today due to issues with cooling down home. Client stated another company had been out and they believe the issue to be the ductwork. Unfortunately ductwork is in the ceiling on a manufactured home and is not accessible. Cycled system. Noticed water in emergency drain switch. Usually an indication of primary condensation line backing up. Removed sensor and ran system for 20 minutes with no issue. AC is 11 years old and furnace is 30+ years old. Believe primary condensation line is just backing up and intermittently turning the system off. Clients agreed to clearing condensation line. Used nitrogen tank to clear line and poured roughly 3 L of water down with no back up. Advised clients get carbon monoxide monitor for old furnace. Thank you for trusting Thompson with your heating, cooling and plumbing needs.
Returned to seal return ducts. Applied Pookie to exposed edges and properly sealed. Tested operation before leaving. Client had to takeoff and will pay invoice through email. Thank you for trusting Thompson with your heating, cooling and plumbing needs.
Went ahead replaced the old coil with a new one brazed in, pressure tested, pulled vacuum. Sealed everything up tested system everything went well as expected. Tenant was home office will call and collect payment
Thompson plumbing, heating, and air conditioning came out to meet with client regarding a water heater she couldn’t light. Client stated washing machine was replaced and instead of turning off water, she turn the gas off water heater lit on first attempt, hot water will be restored to residence within the hour.
5 y.o AC 25 FAU System check Systems are operational upon arrival. Cycled cooling. Both systems are producing an 18°+ splits. Hooked up refrigerant gauges and found pressures to be in spec. Electrical for both systems are good. Recommend hard start kit in near future to mitigate compressors workload and extend systems lifespan. Condenser coils are fairly clean. Inspected furnace, run cap for both systems failed 9.3 and 9.5. Scorch damage to circuit boards. Return ducts are not properly sealed and are bringing the attic space into the living. Space when operating. Advised sealing with Pookie. Heat exchanger, showing major wear and tear. 1ppm of carbon monoxide detected (good). Recommend low detecting carbon monoxide monitors. Systems are relying on 1 inch filters. Recommend 5 inch media filters for newer systems. Due to the state and age of the furnaces advised clients be wary of major repairs. Clients have elected to move forward with sealing return ducts and signing up for maintenance
Returned to install condenser fan motor. Swapped out component and cycled system. The thermostat is having intermittent issues. Client will look to replace thermostat themselves. Thank you for trusting Thompson with your heating, cooling and plumbing needs.
Condenser fan motor was seized and a shrader core was leaking badly. Customer opted to replace the system and upsize some of the ducting.
Performed a leak search and found a consistent leak at the evaporator coil distributor tube. Evaporator coil replacement is the next step.
Installed 4 ton horizontal furnace. Had to enlarge return register in order to get new furnace up in the attic. Built custom return can for new register. Payment was collected via credit card in full. Customer was given all manuals.
No Cool diagnostic found 15yr 3ton Trane split gas attic system with restricted condenser coil; R410a pressures not within manufacturer specifications; pressure switch locking out compressor; reset and unit is operating poorly at this time; recommended condenser coil cleaning and Thompson’s Service Partner Plan;
No Cool diagnostic found water safety switch tripped with condensation drain line raised and not allowing proper draining; reset switch and drained pan; ran to cool; all components operating properly within manufacturer specifications; recommended Thompson’s Service Partner Plan.
