Clients called us out today due to no cooling for downstairs. Cycled cooling. No airflow whatsoever getting to downstairs. System is a 3 1/2 ton on a 3500 square-foot home 2 zone. Upstairs zone works fine and is properly cooling. Inspected condenser, secondary motor control is within spec. Hooked up refrigerant gauges and found pressures to be in manufacturer specifications, this would indicate there is an issue with the damper for the downstairs. Client stated home inspector was having issues with damper as well. Zoning board is sending proper voltage to damper but no movement. This would indicate the damper is the issue and would need to be replaced. Parts house is closed. Will reach out on Monday.
