Came to residence for prepaid MSC tune-up on a '06 ac system. Equipment functional upon arrival. Upon inspection of the outdoor condenser, I found the fan motor is barely over amping, indicating it is starting to die. However, there are no signs of the motor starting to seize, so it should still have a few years of life left in it. I also found the compressor motor is amping much more than it should and recommend adding a hard start kit to add extra life to the unit while using less power and saving money on utilities. Moving inside, I found the 24x25x4 filter was dirty, even though it had only been a few months since replacement. I replaced the filter with homeowner approval and recommend we keep watch on it to see if it continues to get too dirty too fast. One thing that can be added is an AirScrubber that will help purify the air and surfaces in the home and will help prevent as much dust from forming or circulating in the home.
