Mostly good although the electrician left the panel door off unscrewed so the breakers were exposed to direct sunlight and the elements all day and over night (not sure if thats an issue but noted).

My initial request was to convert a 3-way switch to a single pole. After separate visits by two electricians the single pole had power, but the company insisted on an additional $200 charge to install the light fixture in order to test the circuit. After the light fixture was properly installed by another (private) electrician, flipping the switch on tripped the circuit breaker. Tim, the third electrician, traced the circuitry and ultimately found the problem and corrected the circuit in the subpanel. His persistence was remarkable and his attention to cleaning and sealing the fixture deserve special recognition. It is disingenuous to charge more than $400 to replace a switch without including connecting the associated fixture to check the circuit.

I'm a return customer to Five or Free electrical. Allen came back to do more smart switch work for our home. Unfortunately the smart switches were extremely difficult to figure out. Instead of giving up, Allen persisted and ultimately figured it all out. Other electricians would have given up a long time before Allen ultimately resolved the situation. I was very impressed with his work and commitment to doing great service. I would highly recommend him.

A Complicated Project Very Professionally Done

Eric has been a part of a team of people from Five or Free (Alex, Damell, Rafael, Jonathan, Victor, Eddie and a few others) whom I have now worked for over two months in conjunction with a major electrical upgrade of my home, consisting of the installation of a new breaker 200 amp breaker box so that I could accomplish a complete re-design of the 40-year old electrical system of my kitchen to accommodate new modern appliances, including the installation of no less than 8 separate dedicated circuits all told. This has entailed pretty much 3 full days of work by both project manager and various pairs of electricians, a great deal of behind the scenes permitting work with the city, coordination and approval of the work with PGandE (who has really been the major hold-up in completion of the project, taking six weeks to get back to us). I have consistently found Five or Free highly professional in every way: very communicative, consistent in arriving, respectful of me and my home, always ready to answer all my questions. While this has been an expensive project, I would say that their pricing is very reasonable given the extent of the work that was done and they have worked with me to stage the project in a way that made it financially affordable. We have had a couple of minor miscommunications along the way but they have made good on their end when a ball got dropped. This is now the fourth project I have had them do at my place and by far the most involved and extensive, and it's hard to overstate how nice it is to have complete confidence in their work and their customer service.
