The crew did a fantastic job rebuilding my porch. There were some obstacles that they had to overcome. First, there was a yellow jacket nest that had to be eliminated. That was taken care of by Frontier Pest Control (my expense, not theirs) then they returned to the work site. However, in between the time that the nest was eliminated, and the time for them to return, we received a significant amount of rain, which prevented the concrete truck from going into my yard. Also, there was a delay in pouring the concrete, because their supplier had "lost" my concrete order. I don't fault American Standard for that, but hopefully they may keep that in mind when choosing a concrete supplier. They compensated for that by renting a Bobcat to transport the concrete, at no additional expense to me. They had to redo some work, in order for the door to open properly, plus they put dirt, seed and straw in the yard, where they had the Bobcat. All in all, they did a great job. The thing that impressed me is that they actually DID what the SAID THEY WOULD DO, and kept me informed when delays or problems occurred, which I greatly appreciated. Had I been aware of they yellow jacket next, I would have eliminated it prior to them begging to work. Also, they did tell me that they had to go to another store to get straw to put down in the yard, because the store they normally use, the foreman didn't like the quality of the straw, so I appreciate that. With some exceptions, most times when you have a project like this one, you will run into unexpected problems, delays, etc., but it is how you handle them is what matters. American Standard handled them with efficiency, determination and professionalism. Also, everyone I spoke to was very courteous.
