We came for a system check and to figure out why the system wasn’t turning on. The sprinkler system was shorting out at the junction box. The wire connections inside were not waterproof, exposed, and the box fills with water. We made all new connections and waterproofed them. The customer also pointed out 4 rotors that were recently added to this system, and the rotors were installed above grade. After checking the entire system, the only problem were the rotors that were pointed out to us. Turned out zone 7 (and the 1 rotor on zone 1) is a new addition to this system. The rotors were contractor rotors, and are not known for efficiency to longevity. We replaced (and lowered) 1 rotor on zone 1. We then proceeded in an efficiency upgrade on zone 7. We removed the contractor rotors, and replaced them with 6” PRS40 heads matched with MP rotary nozzles.
