Replaced drip indicator head and turned system off for the winter
Winter prep service call visit #1. After running through the system we found a 4in pop up head with a mp nozzle in zone 2 that is a rotary head zone. In zone 4 there was a head that was leaning and affecting the pattern and spray of the head. In zone 8 there was a MP nozzle that needed to be replaced. Customer approved the repairs during visit 1 and the repairs were completed. After we checked our repairs we shut off the water at the ball valve before the backflow device, opened the test ports drained the system and also ran each zone for a minute or two to flush the water out of the valves and mainline.
First Story - 181 ft. Second Story - 52 ft. Pathway - 90 ft.
During the system check, multiple issues were found throughout the property. A total of five pop-up spray heads were flagged to be replaced due to the heads either being damaged or being set too low to properly water an area. A leak in the drip line irrigation for zone one was flagged to be repaired. A lateral line for zone two was broken and was flagged to be repaired. The controller was having issues electrically regarding the rain sensor, and it was recommended to the client to have it replaced as well. All of the issues listed above were presented to the client, and approval was given to complete all of the recommended repairs with the exception of replacing the controller. All approved work was completed at the time of the visit.
Customer called us out for a general system check. System: replaced malfunctioning Hunter controller with Rainbird TM2. Zone 2: added a 6in MPs head. Zone 5: replaced clogged spray nozzle. Zone 6: replaced 2 sticking 6in MPs heads, replaced 1 spray nozzle with MPs to match zone. Zone 7: replaced broken spray nozzle. No other issues found, customer is planning on replacing grass in the front yard, advised she call us out afterwards to make sure heads are tall enough and getting good coverage.
Zone 1, 4 4 inch heads, 2 nozzles Zone 2, no repairs Zone 3, 1 4 inch, 10 6 inch heads, sticking Zone 4, 4 6 inch mp, 3 threaded caps Zone 5, 4 6 inch mp Zone 6, no repairs
We were called out due to a few issues/leaks. We decided we would replace the 2 leaking valves at this time and a ball valve. Additional work will be provided in a quote.
Service call and replace leaking nozzle near sidewalk zone 3
Upon checking system we checked the psi coming into the system and it was only 40 psi. Most of his zones function well, however zones 5,13 are large rotor zones. His map says these zones used to be mp rotor zones and were replaced before the customer moved into the house. In total 11 rotors will be converted to prs40 mp. I also found 2 drip leaks, 1 broken bubbler, 1 rotor nozzle, and 1 spray head. After more investigation we discovered a leak, and restriction coming from the water meter. He is going to contact the city, then call us back out.
Customer called us out because master valve has a short in the solenoid, after checking all stations I found 8 sticking heads and 2 mp nozzles that are the incorrect size. 3 of the heads are mp rotor nozzles, and the other 5 are sprays.
Zone 1 1 nozzle replacement Zone 2 replaced 4” with 6” (1) Zone 5 single strand repair Zone6 zine strand repair Zone11 replaced 4” with. 6” (2) Zone 13 replaced 4” with 6” (3) Zone14/16/18 replaced 4” with 6”(6) All other zones looks good Drip repair zone 20
We came back for a follow up with the drip line (zone 3 parkway). Several of the emitters on the drip line had blown out, and water was free flowing. This was not a warranty. We made 2 repairs and checked our work.
Customer called us out for service call and because a head was tilted. Head in the front on zone 1 was a little tilted but only had a 4 foot nozzle so it was not an issue. Straightened 2 heads on zone 2 near the path so they reach over the grass. Backflow was a little rusty, sent customer an estimate to replace in the future.
During the system check, the clients concern about zone two not turning on was found and resolved. When checking the zone wires at the controller, zones two and three registered at over 100 ohms. The valves for zones two and three were flagged to be replaced as they had failed electrically, and did not Operate correctly when tested. The vast majority of the pop-up spray heads throughout the property were either leaking significantly at the base of the stem and body, or did not retract after the zone was shut off. A total of 37 pop-up sprayheads were flagged to be replaced out of the 45 sprayheads on the property. The Issues listed above were presented to the client, and approval was given to replace the valves for zones two and three. An estimate with the remaining recommended repairs will be sent to the client with an invoice for the work that was completed during today’s visit.
