Ryan and Craig did a thorough winter inspection and testing of my furnace and found the igniter was close to end of its useful life, being 8-10 years old. As part of the Blanton yearly contract I got a 10-15% discount on its replacement. They did have to leave my house to retrieve the part but it took only 5 minutes to replace a part which cost somewhere between 30 and 60$. The replacement would have cost the same if they had had the part on their truck. My cost was 220$. Remember the detection time of the problem was already paid as part of my contract. One more thing. Apparently the Blantons moved their heating and air conditioning part of their business to a new warehouse this winter. This put their winter inspection of furnaces behind such that I had to call to get them out. (I've always had mine inspected end of November-early December which is when it should be done to detect a problem ahead of time. What would have helped is if they had communicated with me that they would be doing their inspections later because of their moving and that if there was an emergency before then they would make the trip to my house free with a reduction in any repair costs.
