We were called out for a accident that happened with something in the home running into the water heater burning assembly. We found that the thermocouple was broken inside of the valve. AJ assumed that we needed a new gas control valve for the unit and so did we. We let him know that he can’t get his parts under warranty and we can take care of any other issues around the water heater. We found a failing relief valve on the unit and an expansion tank. We will have to replace these items during a repair. We also found that the main water shut off valve drips occasionally and the gas line needs hard parts for the unit. You cannot have gas flex lines on water heaters without them being bonded properly. We will have to come back to install the new burner assembly. We did install a thermocouple for the unit.
