This is a gas pressure test that was required in the house that had been vacant for 5 years. Before pulling the permit for the gas inspection we came out to determine if there were any leaks in the line. The house was built in 1910 and had a gas stove, gas fireplace, water heater, and furnace that were all using natural gas. There were a total of 5 leaks that were found in the line. Fortunately we were able to access all of the leaks. The most common gas leak is right around the unions and old shut off valves. The shut off is referred to as a gas cock and it's usually recommended to replace the gas cock with a 1/4 tun ball valve.
