Disassemble shower handle/valve and remove old cartridge Inspect cartridge and shower valve for signs of wear/damage Replace rubber seals, and cartridge inside valve Assemble valve and install existing trim back in place and test fixture No warranty We were called out because the customers stated that their shower handle turned all the way around, and was now leaking. After looking over the area, and speaking with the customer, we discovered that the handle was not stopping in the off position, and thus was basically always on, and allowing water to come out of the tub spout. We informed them that it could be a number of things, namely either the valve or the cartridge inside the valve. We were able to get the tub spout to stop dripping water when the handle was turned in the exact orientation, but the stopper was missing to keep the handle from turning all the way around. We provided several options, which included replacing the valve, or simply rebuilding it. We agreed on rebuild
