We were called out to look at, and offer the customer pricing, for repiping the home, and installing a water treatment system. Talking with the homeowners, and looking over the home, we found that the original water supply piping were a mix of mostly copper, with a substantial amount of ‘quest’ repairs and renovations. We observed the copper piping in the crawlspace showed severe corrosion, as well as several sections of pipe which were not secured properly, or were otherwise installed/repaired incorrectly. We performed a water quality test on the home, and we discovered that the water has an acidity of 6.6, and an iron content of 1 ppm. There was also substantial hardness, and a potential for excessive ammonia content if left unchecked. Finally, we observed that the well’s pressure tank was water logged, and the switch was actuating constantly whenever water was turned on in the home.
