Performed a 28-point precision tune-up on a Carrier central air conditioning system. I inspected electrical components, tested capacitor ratings, verified proper refrigerant charge, cleaned the condenser coil, flushed the condensate drain, and checked static pressure across the ductwork. I also calibrated the thermostat, tightened all electrical connections, lubricated moving parts where applicable, and measured system temperature split to ensure optimal cooling performance and energy efficiency.
Diagnosed failed capacitor on 8-year-old Goodman heat pump. Measured 5μF on dual run capacitor rated for 45/5. Replaced with OEM component, verified compressor startup amperage at 18.4A. Cleaned condenser coil, removing significant pollen buildup. System now operating at proper temperature differential.
Installed 4-ton Carrier 16 SEER split system in a residence. Performed vacuum test to 250 microns, verified electrical connections at 24V control circuit and 240V power supply. Tested operation through complete cycle, measuring 12.3A draw on compressor. Superheat at 12°F, subcooling at 11°F within specifications.
Completed emergency AC repair. R-410A refrigerant leak detected at Schrader valve. Replaced valve core, recharged system to manufacturer specifications, and pressure tested all connections. System now cooling effectively with 18°F temperature differential across evaporator coil. Recommended replacing aging UV lamp in air handler during next maintenance visit.
